The Legislative Affairs Committee will have it’s first meeting on Friday 9/26, from 12:30 - 1:30 in the GSA lounge. Anyone interested is welcome to attend!
Sharla Chamberlain is a Master’s candidate in the LBJ School of Public Affairs and she directs the Legislative Affairs Committee which advocates for graduate students at the local, state, and federal level. This committee researches important issues that impact graduate students and works with students, administrators, and the Austin community to work toward solutions. Some of the main issues we’ll be focusing on this year include but are not limited to affordable housing, student diversity and inclusion, women’s and gender rights, and child care. Join this initiative if you are committed to making UT a better place to learn and work for graduate students.
